Alexander Zverev makes his point on the Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz hype

Alexander Zverev said this year's US Open is much more of the Novak and Carlos show after his win over Daniel Altmaier.

Alex Zverev Talks About The Us Open Final Show

The tennis community and fans appear to be of the opinion that Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will face off in the 2023 US Open final, but some of the other participants in the tournament’s lineup are not overjoyed about that possibility.

Alexander Zverev, who barely missed winning the US Open in 2021, believes that the demand for the top two men’s draw competitors to face off in the title match in New York is insulting to the rest of the field.

The German claimed that this year’s US Open is much more of a Novak and Carlos show in his remarks following his impressive victory over Daniel Altmaier.

Zverev stated this during a conversation: “It is very natural for the media to look for a story and the story right now is Alcaraz and Novak. Last year, it was Rafa (Nadal) against everyone. It is natural for the media to find rivalries, but there are other players in the draw and other players those two have lost against.”

He further added: “It’s disrespectful to talk about the final when your next opponent is still there. We are all here and we are all trying to win.”
