Daniil Medvedev defeated Sebastian Baez by 6-2 6-2 7-6(6) on Saturday to advance to the fourth round of the US Open in 2023.
After the match in the on-court interview, Medvedev joked about a loud fan in the audience, saying he was concerned about how his wife or girlfriend would be able to sleep at night.
Medvedev said in a funny way: “There is one guy, I don’t know if he has a girlfriend or wife, but I don’t know how his girlfriend or wife is going to sleep because he is so pumped up that he’s going to, at the night, say, ‘Vamos, vamos, vamos, vamos, vamos’, just nonstop. So, I feel sorry for him.”
One tennis fan commented that Medvedev’s post-match interview was the year’s most entertaining post-match interview and wrote: “This is the most entertaining post-match interview this year.”
