Simona was elated with the award, and she received 3,000 Euro that she will donate to the Fundatia Simona Halep. The Romanian commented
It’s a special moment because it’s the second time that I’ve won it,” Halep said ahead of Romania’s semi-final showdown with France.
“It makes me feel really happy because people are appreciating how I am on court, and playing for my country is always a pleasure. It was a nice moment tonight to receive this award, and I want to thank all the fans for voting for me, and the people who made this possible.
It’s more special that the fans are voting for this award, and as it is a special award I will donate it to my foundation.
I want to help kids discover tennis, so this money will go straight there. I’m really happy that I can help the kids, because I know some people need this help, and I’ll do everything I can to make the Simona Halep Foundation bigger to be able to help as much as possible.”
“I really want to thank everyone, because you voted me to win this award. It is very special”
