Seeded no.6, Stefanos had a bye in the 1st round. The Greek had to edge an in-form Mikhail Kukushkin in the 2nd round 6-3 7-5 after a battle that lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes. After a good 1st set, when Tsitsipas was “perfect,” the Greek wasn’t as that sharp in the second set when he squandered a 1-break-up lead on 2 occasions when he was leading 3-1 and 4-3. Eventually, the world no.8 conquered the decisive break in the 11th game before winning the match.
Medvedev
Daniil is in ominous form in Montecarlo where he dropped only 5 games in 2 matches after he defeated Joao Sousa 6-1 6-1 and Radu Albot 6-1 6-2.
