Halle is Roger Federer’s domain (7 titles), but this year the King of Grass may have a rough contender: Novak Djokovic.
The tournament has been upgraded and now it is an ATP500 event (it used to be an ATP250 event), so the new status makes it more appealing for top players. For this reason is rather possible that Novak Djokovic will accept the wild-card to prepare Wimbledon and get some more precious points.
According to reports it will depends how Nole will fare at the Roland Garros. If he will go all the way to the end he will probably do not play in Halle, otherwise Federer will have (another) formidable rival in Germany.

Tournament Director Ralf Weber commented “We are in very close contact with him and his management. However, it depends very much on Novak’s performance at the French Open, which this season have a paramount importance for him”
