Felix Auger Aliassime had an awful experience during the last US Open after he had to withdraw from the 1st round while playing against his dear friend Denis Shapovalov because of heart palpitations.

During a recent interview, Felix commented that he wasn’t very scary for him that experience since he was suffering from that condition for long.

The Canadian commented

“It only happened twice when I was competing. It was tough to swallow. I had always dreamt of playing the Grand Slams, and my whole family was there.

But the cardio thing I have dealt with since I was eight, so I wasn’t scared for my health or anything.”

Then Auger Aliassime added

“It took a lot of years because they couldn’t find where it was coming from, the palpitations. I went on the table again, and they were able to find it; it was really easy. I know a lot of people who have done that surgery, and it’s pretty common. It’s not something that I even think about anymore.

That’s fantastic to hear especially after what happened to Mardy Fish that had to call it a career after dealing with an irregular heartbeat, but probably that was another thing.

This was the tough moment when Felix had to withdraw against Denis.
