All the players are back at work as the major North American hardcourt season approaches. The workouts are in full swing and players are exercising and preparing with their teams.
Iga Swiatek, the current World No. 1, has also started practice sessions but in a more unusual way. Fans soon realized there was something strange about her practice session as pictures started to circulate.
Iga Swiatek covered her mouth with tape during her practice session in Montreal, maybe for easier breathing by her nose. However, not everyone was aware of the tape’s intended use, which increased the suspense.
Some fans were definitely surprised by Swiatek’s tape, especially those who weren’t familiar with the nose training tools.
In response to her post on Instagram, some fans spotted it and also passed the comments. One of the followers wrote in the comments: ” I believe it is to optimize your breathing because breathing through your nose is healthier than breathing through your mouth.”

Iga Swiatek in 2023
Currently ranked no.1, Swiatek played her last match on the 30th of July when she beat world no.93 Yanina Wickmayer 6-1 7-6(6) in the semifinal in Warsaw (draw).
This season Iga has achieved a compiled 47-7 match record. The Pole clinched 4 titles in 2023 in Doha, Stuttgart, French Open and Warsaw. Swiatek got to the final in Dubai and Madrid.
Swiatek is scheduled to compete next in Montreal (Omnium Banque Nationale). She will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of August.
