Novak Djokovic appreciates the courage of his countryman soccer star Aleksandar Mitrovic for his support and kind remarks.

Djokovic Happy Over Mitrovic For His Support

Recently, Novak Djokovic thanked fellow Serbian and football player Aleksandar Mitrovic for his encouraging remarks.

Mitrovic, a striker for Fulham of the Premier League and the Serbian national team, recently remarked on his experience supporting Djokovic during his clash against Roger Federer in the 2019 Wimbledon Championships final.

Mitrovic remembered being surrounded by Federer supporters throughout the match and feeling so passionately for his countryman that he almost got into a heated argument.

Mitrovic disclosed these remarks in a podcast:At the time, in England, when I was supporting Djokovic, I was on the verge of coming to blows. I remember when it was the Wimbledon final when he played against Federer. Out of 30 players with the staff, only me and the Spanish goalkeeper were for Novak, and 28 of them were for Federer.”

The 28-year-old Mitrovic described Djokovic as his “brother” and marked his unending love and respect for him. He said: “I started cooking something and some people started insulting me. And now, when I hear someone say bad things about Novak, I want to fight him. I love him like a brother. I feel guilty that people defy him, even in our country.”

The 23-time Grand Slam winner thanked Mitrovic for his sincere sentiments by reposting a podcast clip on social media.
