Murray gets to his first clay court final

Andy Murray has played 47 finals so far and the incredible fact is that none of them have been on clay. Things changed this week as the Brit reached the final in Munich after a rather intense day.

Andy had to play 2 matches in the same day in Munich to beat Rosol in the quarters (4-6 6-3 6-2) and soon after Bautista-Agut 6-4 6-4.

Andy: it has been a long day

Murray commented “It was a tough, long day. The first match was tough and in the second one there were some long rallies but I managed to serve quite well. Winning matches helps on any surface in building confidence and this was my first week of play since last year. It’s been 11 months since I’ve played on the surface. With each match I’ll feel a little more comfortable. Tomorrow will be a tough one. Hopefully we can both recover well and play a good match.”

The final vs. Kohlschreiber

Murray will play Kohlschreiber for the title. Head to head is 2-1 for the world no.3.
