Nick Kyrgios is getting there.
The exciting Australian is back to top form in Estoril to reach his first career final. Nick had to edge clay court specialist Pablo Carreno-Busta from Spain (where else?) in a rough 3 setter. Eventually Kyrgios won the encounter 5-7 7-6 (2) 6-3 in just under 2 hours. Match Stats.
Kyrgios: I am very excited
The Australian commented “I’m very excited to play in my first final. I thought I served well the whole match and got some chances on his serve. I kept pushing after losing the first set and I thought I hung in well.”
The final vs. Gasquet
Nick will play Richard Gasquet in the final. Head to head is1-all, but the Frenchman is the overwhelming favorite on clay.
“He’s the future of the game. It’s a tough opponent. I think it’s better on clay against him, but he has a big serve and he’s very good. He’ll be very high in the rankings soon.” said Richard.
