Roger Federer sets up Miami Open semifinal vs. Denis Shapovalov

Roger Federer beats Kevin Anderson in straight sets in the quarters to play the Canadian in final 4 of the Miami Open

Roger Federer plays another great match at the Miami Open to reach the semifinal after defeating Kevin Anderson in straight sets. After this win, the Swiss will play against Denis Shapovalov in the final 4.

How Federer defeated Anderson

Roger started the match against Kevin Anderson in the best way after bageling (6-0) his opponent in 26 minutes before conquering a 6-0 2-0 lead playing one of the best tennis of his season. However, things got extremely complicated soon after when suddenly Federer was broken and Kevin reversed a 1-3 deficit in a 4-3 lead. At that point, the Swiss Maestro had to be very careful as some bad thoughts could re-emerge after he lost to Kevin last year in Wimbledon after he had a 2-sets-up lead. Eventually, the 37-year-old broke Anderson for the 5th time in the 9th game before winning the match 6-0 6-4 in 85 minutes.
