Nick Kyrgios has never been afraid to use his body as a canvas, and the Australian athlete presented the newest piece to his growing collection of artwork on Tuesday: a mural with a Pokémon theme that covers the whole length of his back.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist had a group of five tattoo artists ink him at Ganga Tattoo in Los Angeles, which he referred to in an Instagram story as “one of the top studios in the world.” In a subsequent report, he claimed that Australia’s Alexi Bouras, a tattoo artist, was responsible for the artwork. Kyrgios gave Bouras a ringing recommendation.
Kyrgios is a well-known admirer of the Japanese anime and video game franchises, frequently posting on Twitter about his experiences playing Pokémon Go for mobile devices and Pokémon Unite for online multiplayer.
Uncertainty surrounds Kyrgios’ latest body painting, although the Pokémon depicted include some of the toughest that a trainer can tame, including Blastoise, Dragonite, Snorlax, Gengar, and Gyarados, as well as the rarest Pokémon in the universe, Mewtwo.

At the moment ranked no.35, Kyrgios played his last match on the 13th of June when he lost to world no.89 Yibing Wu 7-5 6-3 in the 1st round in Stuttgart (draw).
This year Nick has achieved a composed 0-1 match record.
Kyrgios has scheduled to compete next in Washington (Citi Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 31st of July.
