One of the most well-known couples in town, YBN Cordae and Naomi Osaka enjoyed an eventful week. The tennis player’s rapper boyfriend shared some much-awaited good news following the birth of their baby, whom they named Shai.
Being a new father and sharing parenting duties with Naomi Osaka, one would anticipate that Cordae’s cup would be full. But it turns out that his other “baby” has also achieved enormous success. Nearly a month after Lyrical Lemonade released the lead single from a future collection studio album, he turned to Instagram stories to offer an update on the song’s outstanding performance on Spotify.
Taking to Instagram stories Cordae tagged Spotify with the title for a picture of his artist page to highlight a significant occasion for the song: “Doomsday 20M streams in one month on @spotify alone.”
One of Cordae’s first musical partners, Juice WRLD, who tragically passed away in 2019, is featured on “Doomsday”. Fans were especially happy with Osaka’s partner for paying tribute to Juice WRLD without making it a dismal occasion for loss. Cordae actually devoted an entire day to mastering his friend’s behavior for the video.
