Carlos Wants To Be One Of The Greatest In Tennis History

Carlos Alcaraz recently stated his long-term objective to be compared to players like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. Former tennis players and coaches lauded his performance against Djokovic on July 16 at Wimbledon, and some predict he will go down as one of the sport’s all-time greats.

Last week, Alcaraz defeated Djokovic to win his second Grand Slam championship at Wimbledon. Alcaraz, who is only 20 years old, has already broken multiple records and showed further “dreams” he hopes to accomplish.

In a recent interview, he expressed his ambitions, “It hasn’t really hit yet, The truth is that I don’t believe it, and I’m still telling my family: I’m Wimbledon champion. And those are big words. It was a dream and it is crazy to have been able to make it come true. I always dreamed of winning this tournament because it is different and makes you feel different. You see the green, how perfect the grass is, and how beautiful the club is, and it wins you over quickly.”

Now ranked no.1, the Spaniard played his last match on the 16th of July when he defeated world no.2 Novak Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win his 12th career title.

Currently, during this season Carlos has managed to achieve an overall 47-4 match record. Carlos clinched 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz was the finalist in Rio de Janeiro.

He is also scheduled to play at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open) after Toronto. The main draw will start on the 7th of August.
