17-year-old Amanda Anisimova will kick-start her Miami Open campaign on Wednesday at 2 pm against Andrea Petkovic (see H2H).
The American is one of the most exciting prospects in tennis, and she has already impressed with a couple of deep runs in top tournaments. Last year, when she was just 16, she reached the 4th round in Indian Wells after defeating Petra Kvitova. This year, Amanda has also managed to get to the 4th at the Australian Open after demolishing in straight sets the likes of Monica Niculescu, Lesya Tsurenko, and Aryna Sabalenka.
After Melbourne, Anisimova withdrew in the first round in Acapulco, and she lost in the second round in Indian Wells. However, there are high hopes that the teenager will have a deep run in Miami.
Anisimova stats and ranking
Amanda is currently ranked no.73, and she has a 6-4 win-loss record in 2019. However, Anisimova is world no.41 in the year to date rankings, and that means that she has high chances to improve her position in the official rankings pretty soon.
