Carlos Alcaraz’ fitness coach talks about avoiding injuries

Alcaraz has demonstrated his ability to bounce back despite experiencing some injury concerns lately.

Alcaraz Avoiding Injury Concerns

Alcaraz has shown he can recover despite having some physical issues in recent months. When the Spaniard returned to competition in February of this year, he won the Buenos Aires title before suffering another injury during the Rio final.

Until the 2023 season, Carlos Alcaraz has only participated in two grass-court competitions, both of which were trips to Wimbledon. The Spanish wonder won the Queen’s Crown before defeating Novak Djokovic in a gripping Wimbledon final, and his following two matches were a resounding triumph. Even his closest friends were taken aback by Alcaraz, according to his fitness coach Juanjo Moreno.

During a recent interview, Moreno commented: “As a team, there is no other goal in our head that is not winning the tournament we are entering. Also avoiding injuries, which is the biggest concern for the technical staff, being aware that achieving sporting results or performances can often come at the cost of caring for the body. But that’s a high-performance sport and we accept the challenge.

To us, it’s surprising from a certain point of view, but from another, the result achieved by Carlos was also to be expected. We prepare to win every competition we enter, therefore we try to choose carefully which ones we go to.”
