Iga Swiatek was upset in 3 sets by Elina Svitolina on Tuesday. However, the world no.1 was extremely gracious in defeat. She revealed that on the net, she told Elina that she hopes she will conquer Wimbledon.
During the press conference that followed the match, Iga revealed: “Having a Grand Slam title would be pretty amazing for her. She’s coming back after becoming a mother. “I’ll root for her, especially because we like each other as people. I told her on the net that I hope she wins this tournament.”
