After appearing on stage at a Coldplay concert on Sunday, Roger Federer and his wife Mirka flew in from Zurich to Wimbledon, where they joined a sky full of stars, including Kate Middleton in the royal box.
The Princess of Wales, former British Prime Minister David Cameron, and other A-List celebrities also made appearances at Centre Court, but only one individual generated the kind of jubilant clamor we witnessed here: Roger Federer. That was a part of a unique moment of celebration for the All England Club as they recognized his unprecedented eight Wimbledon men’s singles victories, which could only be seen on BBC iPlayer and not the network’s main TV broadcast.
