Iga Swiatek isn’t known for trying to entertain the crowd, producing trick shots, yet during a second-round match at the Bad Homburg Open, she came up with a fantastic tweener.
The world No. 1 defeated Jil Teichmann 6-3, 6-1 in the round of 16 of the WTA 250 tournament in Germany, improving her record to 37-6 for the 2023 season. This was only her eighth career victory on grass. Swiatek broke in game five thanks to a skillfully executed tweener after fending off three break points in the second game.

LWWWWLWWWW Currently ranked no.1, Swiatek owns a composed 37-6 match record in 2023. Swiatek is participating in Bad Homburg where she conquered the world no.58 Tatjana Maria 5-7 6-2 6-0 and the world no.129 Jil Teichmann 6-3 6-1.
Iga Swiatek will come up against the world no.39 Anna Blinkova in the quarter on Thursday at 4:30 pm on CENTRE COURT. They have never played each other until now in top competitions.
