Alexander Zverev is back in the Roland Garros semifinal after a terrible year. The German player got badly injured to his ankle last year when playing in the final four against Rafael Nadal. Sascha was out of competition for many months and it took some time to recover his tennis.
Zverev was extremely happy after beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4. In the following on court interview, he was asked what he had to do in his mind to serve out the match in the fourth set “Yeah, I just have to remember that I have a pair of balls, as well, that I can use.”
For some reason, Pam Shiver, an American former professional tennis player and current tennis broadcaster, was extremely harsh in her comments about Sascha to say: “Stupid, insensitive, pathetic, tone deaf, idiotic, impulsive, ignorant, and disgusting thing to say. The Anti Role Model is SZ (Sascha Zverev).”

Alexander is competing at the French Open where he toppled the world no.294 Lloyd Harris 7-66 7-60 6-1, the world no.86 Alex Molcan 6-4 6-2 6-1, the world no.12 Frances Tiafoe 3-6 7-63 6-1 7-65, the world no.29 Grigor Dimitrov 6-1 6-4 6-3 and the world no.49 Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4.
Alexander Zverev will fight against the world no.4 Casper Ruud in the semifinal. Their actual record is 2-1 for Zverev.
