John Isner, Reilly Opelka, Steve Johnson, and Mackenzie McDonald are the 4 Americans that managed to advance to the 2nd round in Delray Beach while Frances Tiafoe was upset by Daniel Evans.
Isner defeated Peter Polansky 6-3 7-6 (4), Opelka breezed past his compatriot Tennys Sandgren 6-4 6-0, Steve Johnson beat Jason Jung 7-6 (3) 6-4, and Mackenzie McDonald defeated Taylor Fritz 3-6 6-4 6-3.
The most interesting match of the 2nd round will be the seed no.1 Juan Martin Del Potro that is back from a knee injury to face Reilly Opelka.
