Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will face each other in the semi-finals of the French Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was destroyed by Carlos Alcaraz, setting up a thrilling semi-final matchup between Novak Djokovic at the French Open on Friday. When the draw was done 12 days ago, the potential confrontation was immediately brought to light. It also seemed inevitable as both players advanced through the rounds.

Both players have only lost one set, but Alcaraz defeated fifth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2 6-1 7-6 (5) in the night session, whereas Djokovic had to rally to defeat Karen Khachanov on Tuesday.

Even if Carlitos completely outplayed Tsitsipas in the first two sets and a half, he was not satisfied with the fact that he choked a bit in the third set when he had to win the match.

During the on-court interview that followed the match, the Spaniard revealed:

“I lost my focus a little bit at the end of the third set, I had a couple of match points. He started to play, I would say better. I was in trouble but I’m really happy to overcome that problem, still playing a great level, believing that I was going to win the third set.”
