Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva’s fight to get to the second week at Roland Garros is expected to feature an all-teenage matchup. Gauff, who made it to the finals in Paris the previous year, is winning based on all the experience. Yet the young Russian, who just turned 16 and is remarkably one of the game’s most in-form players, could very well be troubling her.

Andreeva is participating in her first Grand Slam main draw. She has only lost six games up to this far. After advancing to the main draw, she has won five straight matches without losing a set.

Talking about the upcoming match against Coco, Andreeva commented:

“We practiced with her once, so we just played some points as usual practice. I mean, she plays quite aggressively. But the practice and the match are different, so I might also play differently. I don’t know. Who knows? If she wins … then we will see what will happen, who will play better.”
