Very bad news from Caroline Wozniacki’s camp.
The former world no.1 had to retire when she was playing the opener in Sydney against Zahlavova Strycova. Caroline was 4-6, 1-all down to really struggle with her wrist. Eventually she decided to retire to not compromise her participation to the Australian Open.
Caroline had already her left wrist wrapped and she probably wanted to test it in Australia, but “I didn’t want to do it worse before Melbourne, so I’m just going to try and get some treatment on it and try and get ready for next week. I still have a week to go, so hopefully it’ll be fine… I’m confident that I’ll be fine to play in Melbourne.”
Yes… still 1 week ago and let’s hope she will make it, she was playing such a great tennis that it would be a pity to have her out the first slam.
