Federer: I have an advantage over Raonic

Roger Federer had an interesting run in Brisbane.

The world no.2 came back from brink in the opener against world no.153 John Millman to play an outstanding tennis in the following 2 matches. Roger was particularly flawless in the semifinal to concede just 4 games to Grigor Dimitrov.

I have a slight advantage…

The good point for Roger is that he has spent just 39 minutes on court in the quarters (vs. Duckworth) and 53 minutes in the semis, so Roger should not struggle from a fitness point of view “I’m fresh for the finals. Probably have a slight advantage over Milos in that regard.”

On the other side of the draw
Milos Raonic had to overcome Nishikori in the other semifinal 6-7(4), 7-6(4), 7-6(4) in 2 hours and 33 minutes.

… against Hewitt it was different

Then Roger drew a comparison with last year’s final (he lost to Hewitt in 3 sets) “Against Lleyton, when I had to go into the grind, I just didn’t have any more rhythm. I think it’s going to be different this time around.”

Head to head

Roger leads Raonic 7-1 (3-1 for Roger in 2014). The Maestro is the favorite to get his first title of the season.
