Naomi Osaka and Karolina Pliskova are going to clash in the semifinal on the Australian Open. They are going to play on Thursday at 3.30 pm (Rod Laver Arena).
Osaka
Currently ranked no.4, the Japanese is determined to win her 2nd back to back slam and claim the world no.1 position. After winning a couple of tough matches in the 3rd and 4th round against Su-Wei Hsieh and Anastasija Sevastova, the Japanese had no problems in beating an injured Svitolina in the quarters. During the following press conference, Osaka confirmed that she is not satisfied with reaching the semifinal in Melbourne and she wants to go for more.
Pliskova
Ranked no.8, Karolina won a memorable quarter-final against Serena Williams after recovering from a desperate scoreline (1-5 in the decider) and saving 4 match points. The Czech played fantastic tennis against the American, but there are doubts about her overall conditions after that match. However, Karolina may feel strong with her strong 10-0 win-loss record in 2019 obtained after she won the title in Brisbane.
