Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori are going to clash in the quarterfinal of the Australian Open. They are scheduled to play at 7.30 pm at the Rod Laver Arena.
Djokovic
Nole reached the quarterfinal without convincing too much. The world no.1 was far from being at his very top especially in the last 2 matches against Denis Shapovalov and Daniil Medvedev when he dropped a set on both occasions. Djokovic seems to struggle a lot with his fitness (fatigue), and that could be exposed in his next match against Nishikori.
Nishikori
Ranked no.9, the Japanese may also have fitness problems against Novak Djokovic after he won 3 matches in 5 sets. On 2 occasions he had to win the 5th set tiebreak (vs. Ivo Karlovic and Pablo Carreno Busta) to spend a lot of energy.
H2H Novak Djokovic vs. Kei Nishikori
This will be the 18th time that Novak will face Kei. The head to head is 15-2 for Djokovic that has beaten the Japanese in the last 14 matches. On ordinary occasions, Novak would be the hot favorite, but it all depends on his and Kei’s physical condition as both seem to struggle a lot.
