Ivo Karlovic produces another incredible upset!
The Croatian is a constant threat for all top players with his terrifying serve. Roger Federer once says that Ivo is a nightmare for the top guys and a sort of bonus for the low ranked players as it’s often Ivo’s serve the key factor in his matches… not much control on it.
Yesterday Novak Djokovic was very nervous from the very beginning and everything looked set to annoy him from the swirling wind to Karlovic’s unconventional tennis.
After exchanging the first 2 sets, Karlovic managed to achieve an incredible break in the 7th game (4-3) after Djokovic squandered a 30-0 lead. Eventually the match ended 6-7(2), 7-6(6), 6-4 after Karlovic fired 21 aces. Match Stats

Karlovic: It was unbelievable
Ivo commented “It was unbelievable. When I arrived here, I didn’t expect that one. He wasn’t able to show his full range because it was windy. I just focused on my game and in the end I was a little luckier.”
Ivo will now play the semifinal against David Ferrer. Head to Head is 3-1 for David, but he should be careful against the Croat Giant!
