Carlos Alcaraz, the current world number two and defending champion, and Alexander Zverev, the German opponent who handed him a sad loss at Roland Garros last year, will face off in the Madrid Open’s round of 16.

Talking about the upcoming match, the German player commented:

“With Carlos, it will be a match-up people will look forward to. We played in the final here last year, played a massive match at Roland Garros before I got injured (vs Rafael Nadal).”
