Simona Halep wins her 2nd round match… Halep ‘s way.
The world no.1 had to fight hard against Sofia Kenin that is playing much better than her actual rank (37). After the Romanian conquered a fast 6-3 3-0 lead everything was pointing at a smooth ride for Simona. However, the American was of a different opinion, and she managed to get back her break to win the set at the breaker.
In the 3rd set, things got extremely complicated for Simona and Kenin took full advantage of her momentum to grab a 4-2 40-30 lead. That was the key moment of the match as the Romanian managed to break back (3-4 instead of 2-5) to conquer 4 consecutive games and win the match 6-3 6-7 (5) 6-4.

After the match, Simona commented “Well, I have no idea how I won this tonight. It’s so tough to explain what happened on court.”
