Mirra Andreeva: “The pressure will be on Aryna Sabalenka”

Mirra Andreeva is not surprised by her tennis level and believes it will be Aryna Sabalenka who will feel the pressure in her next match.

Andreeva On Sabalenka

Mirra Andreeva has just reached the third round in Madrid on her 16th birthday. The upcoming Russian player will face Aryna Sabalenka in her next match, and it seems that she is not feeling the pressure at all.

During an interview with Tennis Channel’s Prakash Amritraj, Mirra said that she is not surprised by her tennis level and that she believes that it will be the Belarusian player who will feel the pressure in her next match. Mirra commented: “I didn’t expect to be here and playing Sabalenka in the Round of 16. I’m not really surprised with my level, because I know the way I can play on the court … but of course, I didn’t expect to be here and go this far.”

“I have nothing to lose [against Sabalenka]” Andreeva added. “I just have to go there and show the best tennis I can. There is no pressure at all for me. There is some pressure on her, I think, because she’s going to play a 16-year-old girl. Most probably, we will play on some stadium, so I’m excited to do that.”
