Matteo Berrettini Is Still Struggling With An Injury

There is bad news from Matteo Berrettini, who will not be able to participate in the upcoming ATP 1000 event in Rome. The Italian champion is still struggling with an oblique injury. This issue has already prevented him from competing during this clay court season and it made him withdraw from Monte Carlo and Madrid. Matteo said that he needs to wait at least one week to start training again, and there are obvious doubts about his participation also at the French Open.

“I have been holding on to the hope of being able to compete in Rome, a tournament that means so much to me and where all my dreams started. However, my latest scan results show I still need at least a week before I can start training physically again.
Withdrawing from and missing the Rome event is so so difficult, and that is all because of the 🇮🇹 fans. Your support means everything and I can’t wait to be back competing in front of you again soon.”
