Tennys Sandgren conquers his first career title in Auckland after he defeated Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-2 in the final.
The American didn’t drop a single set for the entire week in Auckland after winning 5 matches in 6 days.
After the match, the American commented
“I’m a little bit at a loss for words, honestly. A lot of work, a lot of training and a lot of sacrifices goes into even making a final and to get a win; I’m kind of speechless. Just grateful that I can be out here, play and compete. I’ve dealt with some injuries, so just to be healthy and playing well, it feels really good.”
After this week the American will gain 22 places to be the new world no. 41. He will now head to Melbourne where he will face Nishioka in the 1st round.
