Conchita Martinez, a tennis great from Spain, and Garbine Muguruza have decided to discontinue their relationship. Two-time Grand Slam winner Muguruza began her season with four straight first-round losses after posting a 12-17 record in 2022. Muguruza has been out for the past two months in order to give herself time to prepare before returning to competition.
Conchita Martinez posted the following message (translated): ” Garbiñe and I have decided by mutual agreement to end our employment relationship. They have been fantastic years, loaded with great emotions and wonderful experiences, both inside and outside the court.
It has been a pleasure to work with you, Garbiñe. I wish you the best #friendship.”

Ranked world no.131, Garbine played her last match on the 30th of January when she surrendered to world no.53 Linda Noskova 6-1 6-4 in the 1st round in Lyon (draw).
Until now, during this year the Spaniard owns an overall 0-4 match record.
