Denis Shapovalov is one of the most interesting prospects in tennis not only for his great game but also for his character.
The Canadian didn’t start his 2019 in the best possible way after he lost in the Auckland opener to Joao Sousa 4-6 6-4 6-4. After a fantastic start of the match, the youngster lost the encounter after committing an incredible series of unforced errors.
Denis was extremely frustrated during and after the match, but his disappointment didn’t make him lose his manners, and before leaving the premises, he went to thank everyone.

After the match, Denis commented
“I try to do it every week. I think it’s just how I’m brought up and how my team is.
We always make sure to thank everyone before we leave, it’s not necessary for them to provide all the hospitality and great event that they’re doing. So I make sure I’m polite and thank them. Honestly, it’s great to be a part of the tour, and every tournament has something unique about it
So hopefully I can just be on good terms with everyone.”
Denis’ next step will be the Australian Open. Hoping for a deeper run!
