Rafael Nadal and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will clash in the second round of the Brisbane International for the 13th time in their career. They are going to play on Thursday (the time has to be set).
Nadal
Rafa has managed to complete just 1 tournament in 2018 on hard courts and he hopes to have a bit of a more “normal” run on this particular surface this year. The King of Clay has lost his first (unofficial) match of the season in Adu Dhabi at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship against Kevin Anderson to take some time off before competing in Brisbane. Being seeded no.1 in Brisbane, Rafa had a bye in the first round.

Tsonga
Currently ranked 239, Jo-Wilfried is trying to recover from a tough season that was interrupted by a knee operation back in April 2018 after he got injured in Rotterdam a couple of months before. The Frenchman defeated home favorite Thanasi Kokkinakis 7-6 (6) 6-4 in the first round after playing rather good tennis.
H2H Rafael Nadal vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
Rafa and Jo-Wilfried have played each other 12 times. The head to head is 8-4 for the Spaniard that also leads 4-2 n hard court. However, the last time they played was back in 2015 and it was Tsonga to win in 3 sets in the ATP1000 Master in Shanghai (semifinal).
