Abused teenage player defends father

Life at the top can be tough, but life to get to the top can be even tougher.

Andrada Surdeanu is chasing the dream to become a tennis pro and it’s her father to help her to get there.

Unfortunately the “father-coach” formula often put an extra stress on both parents and kids and sometimes it can turn a bit ugly. This is what has happened to Andrada that after losing a match in Israeli was hit by her father to leave her with a bloody nose.

The father was immediately arrested and he was detained for one night in jail.

After that Andrada defended her father with a post on facebook “My father is not a beast, he didn’t break my nose; I didn’t have my face covered in blood. It’s true, he slapped me once. So what? I deserved it.

It was my fault because I’ve yelled and said some words to him. I was irresponsible after all the sacrifices he made for me. I admit that I was scared in that moment, but I know he regrets what he did and he loves me.

Nobody says that he didn’t do anything wrong, but he doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. I want my father back because I love him.”

Let’s hope they can get some peace.
