Duval. Cancer survivor back to pro-tennis!

Great news from Vicky Duval.

The teenager that sent shockwaves in the 2013 US Open after defeating Sam Stosur (she was  17 at that time) had to cope with a much more threatening opposition: cancer!

Vicky was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma soon after Wimbledon. Luckily enough they diagnosed the cancer at a very early stage so the American teenager was expected to recover.

Now Vicky breaks the great news “Everything is good. It seems to be all gone. I’m going to have follow-up in January. It’s three months the first year and then every six months after that. But so far, I’m in the clear.”

“It kept me busy and I really didn’t have the energy to do much else. It’s something I’ve loved doing since I was little, but I never had a professional art teacher or anything. So I started working with one, and it’s kind of crazy how much I grew as an artist. I thought I was pretty good, but then saw I was not so good. I’m ok, but I got way better.”

Victoria broke in the top100 soon after Wimbledon to now been ranked no.135. We are eager to see her back to court in style.
