IPTL: What a mess!

The International Premier League as finally started and to be honest… that was a bit messy.

The Organization has put so many rules and they wanted to speed-up everything so much that it was quite difficult to follow.  All kind of players were coming on the court from “almost from all over the places” and it was really difficult to understand what was going on.

The 60-seconds time-out looked like a joke (what the h. you can do in 60 seconds?), the “Power Point” is a concept that you can apply to video-games or matches among 5-year-old kids, and the 20-seconds shot clock was definitely too aggressive.

The concept that the games rules over the sets doesn’t also make too much sense as the 5 minutes “shoot-out” (if you are trailing… do you just need to serve and volley?).

What we liked?

The nicest part of this “glorified exhibition” (yes we agree with Kermode in this definition) is that the players managed to mix-up nicely.  It was the perfect stage for entertaining players such as Monfils, Santoro (that was a nice set with Rafter) and Kyrgios.

By the way

Just for reporting, the Indian Aces demolished the Singapore Slammers 26-16 , mainly due to Ivanovic trashing Hantuchova 6-0 and Monfils winning 6-1 against Hewitt.

The UAE Royal defeated the Manila Maveric 29-24

…. Did anyone see Roger around?
