Serena Williams, the 23-time Major champion, was impressed by Alycia Parks’ boldness in Lyon last month and congratulated the rising American star in a charming way. To win her first WTA trophy in Lyon, 22-year-old Parks defeated a succession of seeds, including top seed Caroline Garcia, Danka Kovinic, and Petra Martic. She entered the WTA top 50 for the first time in her career, thanks to the victory.
Alycia Parks received a congratulations present from none other than Serena Williams on the occasion of the hard-court swing in Indian Wells and in Miami. Parks received jewelry from Serena Williams Jewelry, including earrings and a gold-plated necklace with the word “winner” etched on it.
The young American woman used Instagram to thank Williams for the thoughtful gesture and to share her excitement.
