Alycia Parks is having a rather peculiar 2023 after ending the last season gloriously by winning two consecutive tournaments. Alycia has fantastic tennis, and she stated that she feels having already the level of a top10 player. Nevertheless, with the exception of her great title in Lyon, the young American player has never managed to go beyond the second round in the other 3 tournaments she played this season. After conquering Lyon, she lost the opening match in Linz before capitulating in the second round in Merida.

Back on home soil, Alycia will face wildcard Mirjam Bjorklund in the opening match. She may clash against the seed number 1, Magda Linette, if she reaches the semifinal. This is the Austin draw.

Currently the world no.51 (career-high), Alycia played her last match on the 23rd of February when she was overcome by world no.140 Rebecca Peterson 6-4 6-2 in the 2nd round in Merida (draw).
At the moment, during this season Parks owns a 7-3 match record. Parks clinched 1 title in Lyon.
She is also scheduled to play in Indian Wells (BNP Paribas Open) after Austin. The main draw will start on the 27th of February.
Mirjam Bjorklund in 2023
Currently ranked no.152, the Swede played her last match on the 6th of February when she was defeated by world no.164 Elena Gabriela Ruse 6-4 6-1 in the qualifications in Abu Dhabi (draw).
This year Mirjam owns a composed 4-4 win-loss record.
Bjorklund has scheduled to compete next in Austin (ATX Open). She will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 27th of February using a wild card.
