Nishikori at career high, Federer too far from Djokovic

After a great week in Paris when Djokovic has defended his title (see article), we had some interesting movements in the rankings.

DJOKOVIC

Nole managed to keep Roger Federer far away from the world no.1 spot. After his win in Paris and Roger’s disappointing loss in the quarters to MIlos Raonic, the Serbian keeps a good gap over Roger (now 1.310pts above the Swiss)

NISHIKORI

The Japanese reached the semifinal in Paris to gain 2 places and be ranked no.5 (career high). Kei is only 270pts shy from Wawrinka, so a good season finale may give him the world no.4 spot.

BAGHDATIS

After a couple of very disappointing months when Marcos won 1 match of 5, the Cypriot won the Challenger 35 in Geneva to climb 27 places and be back in the top 100 (now 89).

ALMAGRO

Nicolas is still struggling with his foot. He has not been playing since May to now lose 14 places and be ranked no.73. We hope to see him back soon in 2015.
