After winning consecutive WTA 125 tournaments in 2022 and defeating world No. 5 Caroline Garcia in the Lyon Open final the previous week, Parks shot up the rankings.
In Lyon, the 22-year-old demonstrated that she currently has one of the biggest serves on the WTA Tour. Alycia Parks can win a Grand Slam, according to tennis pundit Rennae Stubbs, who likened her booming serve to Serena Williams at her best.

Alycia blasted 52 aces over the course of her five matches. Stubbs, a former world number one in doubles, believes Parks will break into the top 10 in the coming year. During a recent podcast, she commented:

“Her serve is, I’m telling you when they’re coming at me… Oh my god, it’s like Serena’s peak. That’s how good her serve is when it goes in. I’m telling you, she’s a potential top-10 player within the next 12 months. She’s got to keep, obviously, the body healthy. She’s a strong girl, really wants it. She has a great head on her shoulders.”
