Elena Rybakina will clash against Victoria Azarenka in the Australian Open semifinal with the aim of winning her second major after conquering Wimbledon in 2022.

In order to make it to the final four, the Kazakh, who was born in Moscow, served 35 aces, the most of any female Melbourne Park player. When she won the Wimbledon title last year, she also held the top spot in this category.

“I would say that I always served big, but for sure when I started to work with my coach, we did a lot of changes on the technique,” she said after beating Latvia’s Ostapenko. “I gained even more power. It’s my weapon on the court and of course we are trying to work on it. Always a lot to improve.”
