Roger Federer is in the right direction to become the new world no.2.
The Maestro is having a great season and he is also taking full advantage of a horrible (tennis) summer for Rafael Nadal that crashed out in Wimbledon 4th round and he was unable to compete in North America (wrist injury) .
After last week Roger is just 285pts shy from Rafa. If Roger has a good tournament in Shanghai he has good chances of becoming the new world no.2 (last year the Maestro lost to Monfils in the 3rd round).
NISHIKORI -> CAREER HIGH
Roger wasn’t the only winner in this week’s rakings. After winning in Japan, Nishikori reached a world no.6 career high and he is just 60 points from a struggling David Ferrer. Kei is expected to become no.5 rather soon.
