Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently in Melbourne, where he is getting ready to play in the Australian Open. The Greek sensation loves symbolism and he decided to have a practice session wearing a “Japanese” jersey. With a tweet, Stefanos explained why the use of that jersey.
“The jersey represents the connection between sport and the ancient warrior spirit of Japan. A deep cultural heritage of honor, perseverance, and excellence. It also symbolizes the connection between the modern and ancient, the beauty of tradition, and the power of the present,” he said.

At the moment ranked no.4, Tsitsipas played his last match on the 7th of January when he beat world no.14 Matteo Berrettini 4-6 7-6(2) 6-4 in the semifinal in Australia (draw).

Tsitsipas will compete next at the Australian Open (Australian Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
