Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets on Saturday in Adelaide. Unfortunately, the Serbian champion had an injury scare in the first set when he had some problems with his hamstring. After receiving a medical timeout, Djokovic looked to be in fine form. Soon after the match, he gave some updates about his injury.

“Thankfully, it was nothing too serious,” Djokovic revealed in an on-court interview. “If it was I wouldn’t be able to continue. I took an anti-inflammatory and settled in.

I was trying to keep the momentum going and not allow him to break my serve. That was the key. Eventually, I would get a chance. The longer the match went on, my hamstring got warmer and bothered me less.

Hopefully, for tomorrow, it’ll be fine.”
