Rafael Nadal became a dad a couple of months ago, and he is trying to find a solution to having his son and wife with him when playing tournaments. His wife Mery Xisca is not used to traveling to Australia when Rafa is playing but this time, she made an exception. She was caught with her son before Rafa was about to play his first match of the season against Cameron Norrie.

Now ranked no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 17th of November when he overcame world no.3 Casper Ruud 7-5 7-5 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
Currently, during this year Rafael achieved an overall 39-8 record. Rafael conquered 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. The Spaniard reached the final in Indian Wells.
Nadal is scheduled to compete next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
