Nick Kyrgios hit the headlines once again for the wrong reason. The Australian player decided to retire (injury?) from the United Cup a few hours before the beginning of the competition. Soon after the announcement that he would not represent Australia in the newly minted competition, Nick was widely slammed by the media. Even Stefanos Tsitsipas was quite harsh with the Australian player saying that he was not surprised at all by Kyrgios’s retirement, saying sarcastically that he wishes him good holidays.
Netflix and disrespect
Nick Kyrgios has often stated that he feels disrespected also and especially by fellow Australians. He reiterated his statement, this time against the media and everyone else, saying that he deserves more respect for putting tennis on the map. Kyrgios will be the main character in the first episode of the new docuseries about tennis that Netflix is about to broadcast.
This was his message on Twitter.
Haha so after all this, all the media, journalism saying how bad I am for the sport, disrespecting the game & just a pure villain, I am going to be the number 1 episode on Netflix… to grow our fan base, basically trying to put tennis on the map again 🤭
