Rafael Nadal is extremely passionate about soccer, and it’s clear that he is a huge fan of Leo Messi, besides being in a great relationship with his biggest rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. During a recent interview, the Spanish sensation confessed that he was extremely emotional when the Argentine legend scored the third goal during a thrilling World Cup final.
“When Messi scored the third goal, tears came to my eyes. It was because of the emotion of seeing someone so great achieve what was missing, having suffered so much to achieve it,” said Rafa during a recent interview.
The world number 2 will soon kick start the new 2023 season in Australia. Rafa will compete in the United Cup, representing Spain against home favorite Australia and Great Britain.

Currently ranked no.2, Rafael played his last match on the 17th of November when he overcame world no.3 Casper Ruud 7-5 7-5 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
Until now, during this year Rafael owns a composed 39-8 win-loss record. The Spaniard clinched 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. The Spaniard got to the final in Indian Wells.
Nadal is scheduled to compete next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
